A New Barometer of ICT Use

During the first two weeks of December 2008, over 1,500 Belgian business users of ICT took part in a survey designed specially to explore their experience of technology at work. The survey was commissioned by Getronics, and conducted by independent research experts, Insite Consulting.

The survey stands out from similar initiatives undertaken to date because it is purely focussed on the people who use ICT professionally and on their experiences, rather than on the underlying technology.

For Getronics, the objectives of the survey were clear:

  • Measure end-user's satisfaction of the ICT platform and services they experience at work;
  • Identify areas of improvement where ICT can help increase productivity;
  • Measure the adoption and maturity of teleworking and mobility in Belgian companies.

Getronics published the survey results in February 2009, under the title The ICT Barometer and will be repeating the survey on an annual basis, revealing trends and changing attitudes amongst the workforce.
